This is not David writing this time. It is his step daughter Caroline. David died this morning (February 8, 2008).
I am desperately trying to think of what funny and clever thing David might have to say about his own death. I am sure it would be poignant and humorous.
We, his family, would just like to say how much we loved him and how much he will be missed.
I'm afraid I can't add too much more at this time. If there is anything you would like me to post on his blog as a tribute to David, please e-mail me at callythom@msn.com and I will do my best to create some new posts.
We miss you so much Pop pop!

As I think of Uncle David, I remember standing in the parking lot of the D.C. airport. He and Nancy handed Lance and I 100 dollars and the keys to his car. After a short stay at the beach, we spent the next few nights at Uncle David's and Nancy's house to finish out our honeymoon. Not only did they offer their car and house they gave us the master bedroom and mailed the hanging bag to Texas that we left in their closet!
We love you Uncle David and will miss you. Thanks to you and Nancy for all the 10 year old visits for all of our children. We hold you and your family close to our hearts.

We will truly miss the man we all called "PopPop...I will mostly miss the occassional phone call to share a joke, the humorous emails, pictures, and all the life he had to share w/ us. I feel so priveledged to have known such an extraordinary man! All of our thoughts and prayers are with his entire extended family. He loved you all dearly.
My memories of Uncle David are full of lots of laughter. Whether we were sitting around a KY, PA or MD table he always had us laughing - telling funny stories of his life of adventures. Whether it was a trip to Europe or breaking into a B&B after hours, everything had a touch of humor and fun...Emails, blogs, family celebrations, and beautiful family always with lots of pride and pictures! We are all so blessed to have the gift of David and his beautiful spirit in our lives. He will always be with us in our hearts.
Love Kimmie, Michael, Addie & Emelia Entrekin

David, Happy Father's Day.
Still missing you. Love Always Carey
I never really got to know David, and that was definitely my loss. I was just starting to blog about my experience with my own new diagnosis of PD when I found his blog. We passed a few comments back and forth and I had good intentions of returning, but I am not sure I ever did.
I reread one of his comments on my blog today on a very old post that some new Parkie had found and commented on. So I thought I would stop by and say hi. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I read his last post, and couldn't help but chuckle at his parting words, hoping to miss out on Job's boils.
Happy Birthday David. I miss you. Carey
Happy Birthday Poppop.Love you.
